Brea was diagnosed with Myalgic Encephalomyelitis/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (ME/CFS) in 2009. At the time, she was a promising young scientist with a bright future ahead of her. But within a matter of months, she was bedridden and unable to work or even care for herself.
